Extended serving hours of the Canteen and opening hours of the AK Buffet

Dear Diners,

We are pleased to announce that starting from November 4, 2024, the canteen’s serving hours will be extended until 2:00 PM. This extension applies to the main dining hall and the pizza section. It does not apply to the quick meals and outlets outside the main canteen building. The last serving of pizzas will be until 1:45 PM.

Additionally, starting from November 4, 2024, the opening hours of the AK Buffet will also be extended. The new opening hours will be Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Besides the new opening hours, you can also look forward to a new range of hot and cold drinks and hot and cold snacks at the AK Buffet.

Internet registration

In order for the internet to work on your campus, you need to register an internet connection. The prerequisite is that you have a signed accommodation contract.

Internet registration

  • In the room, connect your laptop with a cable to the internet socket.
  • Turn off wifi on your laptop.
  • Go to https://koleje.jcu.cz/ (you can get there even without Internet registration) and use the link " Přihlášení studentů do ISKAM ".
  • Log in with your login name WITHOUT a "@" and suffix!
  • You will be taken to your ISKAM account. Here in the top bar, expand the item Accommodation and select the item "Request for Internet" from the expanded menu.
  • In the following dialog, click the red "Attempt to load MAC" button. After a while, a group of letters and numbers should appear in the field. Then click the blue "Connection registration" button.
  • If a message about successful registration subsequently appears, wait about 10 minutes and restart the laptop. After the restart, the internet should be fully functional.

What to watch out for!

  • If you move to another dormitory, the internet will stop working.
  • If you change the laptop, the internet will stop working.
  • If you get a wifi router and connect your registered laptop through this router, the internet will stop working.
  • If you have a LAN-USB adapter and change it after registration, the Internet will stop working.

!!! Na stránky koleje.jcu.cz se dostanete i když vám u připojení svítí Bez internetu !!!

Pro úspěšnou funkci a registraci PC/NTB postupujte následovně:

Připojení a registrace PC/NTB

 

  1. Na pokoji připojte svůj notebook kabelem do internetové zásuvky.
  2. V notebooku vypněte wifi.
  3. Jděte na stránku https://koleje.jcu.cz/ (tam se dostanete i bez registrace internetu) a použijte odkaz „Přihlášení studentů do ISKAM“.
  4. Přihlaste se svým přihlašovacím jménem BEZ zavináče a přípony!
  5. Dostanete se na svůj ISKAM účet. Zde v horní liště rozbalte položku Ubytování a z rozbaleného menu vyberte položku „Žádost o internet“.
  6. V následujícím dialogu klikněte na červené tlačítko „Pokus se načíst MAC“. V políčku by se po chvíli měla objevit skupina písmen a čísel. Potom klikněte na modré tlačítko „Registrace přípojky“.
  7. Pokud se následně objeví hlášení o úspěšné registraci, počkejte cca 10 minut a notebook restartujte. Po restartu by měl být internet plně funkční.

Pro úspěšnou funkci a registraci routeru postupujte následovně:

  1. V pokoji připojte váš router kabelem do internetové zásuvky. (Na routeru musíte použít port WAN, někdy označený modře, přes jakýkoliv jiný port vám nic nepůjde)
  2. Připojte se k vaší WiFi.
  3. Přejděte na https://koleje.jcu.cz/ (dostanete se tam i bez registrace internetu) a použijte odkaz “Přihlášení studentů do ISKAM”.
  4. Přihlaste se svým uživatelským jménem BEZ zavináče a přípony!
  5. Budete přesměrováni na váš účet ISKAM. Zde v horní liště rozbalte položku Ubytování a z rozbaleného menu vyberte položku “Žádost o internet”.
  6. V následujícím dialogu klikněte na červené tlačítko “Pokusit se načíst MAC”. Po chvíli by se v poli měla objevit skupina písmen a čísel. Poté klikněte na modré tlačítko “Registrace připojení”.
  7. Po registraci počkejte asi 10 minut a restartujte router (vyndat ze zásuvky a dát zpět). Po restartu by měl být internet plně funkční.

Časté problémy

Pokud se přestěhujete na jinou kolej, internet přestane fungovat.

Pokud změníte PC/NTB internet přestane fungovat.

Pokud si pořídíte wifi router a připojíte notebook přes tento router, internet přestane fungovat, musíte  udělat registraci pro router.

Pokud máte LAN-USB adaptér a po registraci ho změníte, internet přestane fungovat.

For successful operation and registration of your PC/laptop, follow these steps:

Connecting and registering a PC/laptop

  1. In your room, connect your laptop to the internet socket using a cable.
  2. Turn off WiFi on your laptop.
  3. Go to https://koleje.jcu.cz/ (you can access this site even without internet registration) and use the link “Student Login to ISKAM”.
  4. Log in with your username WITHOUT the @ symbol and suffix!
  5. You will be taken to your ISKAM account. Here, expand the “Accommodation” item in the top menu and select “Internet Request” from the dropdown menu.
  6. In the next dialog, click the red button “Try to load MAC”. A group of letters and numbers should appear in the field after a while. Then click the blue button “Connection Registration”.
  7. If a successful registration message appears, wait about 10 minutes and restart your laptop. After the restart, the internet should be fully functional.

Connecting and registering a router

  1. In your room, connect your router to the internet socket using a cable. (You must use the WAN port on the router, sometimes marked in blue; using any other port will not work)
  2. Connect to your WiFi.
  3. Go to https://koleje.jcu.cz/ (you can access this site even without internet registration) and use the link “Student Login to ISKAM”.
  4. Log in with your username WITHOUT the @ symbol and suffix!
  5. You will be redirected to your ISKAM account. Here, expand the “Accommodation” item in the top menu and select “Internet Request” from the dropdown menu.
  6. In the next dialog, click the red button “Try to load MAC”. A group of letters and numbers should appear in the field after a while. Then click the blue button “Connection Registration”.
  7. After registration, wait about 10 minutes and restart the router (unplug it and plug it back in). After the restart, the internet should be fully functional.

Common problems

  • If you move to another dormitory, the internet will stop working.
  • If you change your PC/laptop, the internet will stop working.
  • If you get a WiFi router and connect your laptop through this router, the internet will stop working; you need to register the router.
  • If you have a LAN-USB adapter and change it after registration, the internet will stop working.
